Organisers of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival postponed the festival becuase of the Coronavirus pandemic, it will now take place in July now

Cannes Film Festival Postponed Because Of Coronavirus; To Take Place In July Now
The Cannes Film Festival remained cancelled last year due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately this year organizers have decided to host the festival from July 6- July 17, 2021. The organizers will have the festival hosted in-person keeping in mind the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Usually the festival is held in month of May but this year it has postponed to July 2021, the news of the same was confirmed on their Twitter handle. The festival was earlier scheduled to take place in May from 11-22, 2021.

The official Twitter handle announcing the new date Tweeted, “74th FESTIVAL DE CANNES: CHANGE OF DATES Initially scheduled from 11 to 22 May 2021, the Festival de Cannes will now take place from Tuesday 6 to Saturday 17 July 2021. #Cannes2021” Soon to be taking place in France, where the government is likely to impose another lockdown with the rise in COVID-19 cases, organizers are hoping things to come in control as they inch closer to the festival. The festival is attended by 45,000 people.

French journalist Pierre Lescure in conversation with French publication Le Figaro, said, “We remain reasonably optimistic in the hope that the peak of the epidemic will be reached at the end of March and that we will breathe a little better in April.
